This is an original piano solo piece “Dearly Beloved” by composed by Ala Gialla.
About this piece:
”Dearly Beloved” was composed in 2024 dedicated to my late father, who passed away due to cancer complications. This piece is about love, loss, grief and hope.
The music starts quietly with a retrospective melody over a calm harmony. Gradually, the momentum builds with different melodic fragments, mimicking the emotional ebbs and flows of love and grief. Eventually it all comes together, singing the triumphant sound of love. The last soulful melody leads to the end with the very first melody, ever so gently.
“Dearly Beloved” was premiered by the Flatirons Community Orchestra in Colorado, USA in May 2025, and was selected as one of the winners in the International Alliance of Women in Music (IAWM) Annual Concert 2025, performed by Virago Symphonic Orchestra in Cologne, Germany in September 2025.
“Dearly Beloved” is available in various arrangements: a piano solo version, a piano and strings version, as well as a small orchestral ensemble version (strings +woodwind).
